|
The Ampthill & District Probus Club was founded on 19th February 1972. At our luncheons, which are held on the first Tuesday of each month, you will enjoy a good meal, companionship and usually every other month we have an interesting talk. The invited speakers cover a wide range of subjects from the worlds of work, sport, the arts, hobbies, history to the environment and so on. Several times a year we have special luncheons and evening functions to which the wives of members and the widows of former members are invited. At Christmas we also enjoy a Christmas buffet lunch and each Spring we also have a few days away which is very popular with our members and their wives including the widows of former members. Last year, besides several visits to places of interest we had a very successful 5 day holiday at the Savoy hotel in Bournemouth in early May in May 2011 (see picture below). In November a river cruise and visit to the Christmas Markets in Paris is planned. Any members interested please contact our social secretary - details below. Membership is open to men who have retired or partly retired and who have worked in a professional or business environment. Further details can be obtained from the Secretary John Ware. How to contact our secretary is given in the Invitation page.
